Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 15 April 2026

1. Our commitment

BlackIoT Sagl is committed to making its website www.blackiot.swiss accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

2. Applicable framework

  • Directive (EU) 2019/882 — European Accessibility Act (EAA), applicable from 28 June 2025, which extends accessibility requirements to a range of products and services placed on the EU market.
  • Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of public-sector websites and mobile applications (reference framework; BlackIoT is a private entity but voluntarily aligns to the standard).
  • EN 301 549 — harmonized European standard for ICT accessibility, incorporating WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Swiss law — Federal Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against People with Disabilities (BehiG, SR 151.3), where applicable.

3. Compliance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that most parts of the content fully conform, with some known gaps under active remediation. We do not yet claim full conformance.

4. Accessibility features implemented

  • Semantic HTML5 landmarks (<nav>, <main> equivalent via <section>, <footer>) for assistive technologies.
  • Descriptive alt attributes on informative images; empty alt on decorative images.
  • Color-contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA on body text against dark backgrounds.
  • Responsive layout that adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports and supports browser text resizing up to 200 % without loss of content.
  • Keyboard-reachable navigation, including dropdown menu items.
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • ARIA labels on non-text controls (toggle buttons, social links, cookie banner).
  • Self-hosted fonts — no external font-service calls that could block or fail.
  • No auto-playing audio.
  • Localized content in English, Italian, French, and German, selectable via a persistent language switcher.
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion is a work-in-progress for scroll-reveal animations.

5. Known gaps under remediation

  • Some decorative SVG icons currently lack explicit role="img" / aria-hidden markers.
  • The particle canvas in the homepage hero is decorative; a text alternative is provided via the surrounding heading and subtitle.
  • Language switcher pills will be extended with aria-current for the active language.
  • Reduced-motion preference handling will be added for the scroll-reveal and timeline animations.

6. Compatibility

The website is designed to work with recent versions of mainstream browsers and assistive technologies, including:

  • Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — latest two major releases.
  • VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack.
  • Screen magnifiers and high-contrast modes at the OS and browser level.

7. Assessment approach

Accessibility is assessed through a combination of manual review against WCAG 2.1 success criteria, automated tools (Lighthouse, axe), and keyboard-only and screen-reader navigation testing. Formal third-party audit has not yet been commissioned and is planned.

8. Feedback and contact

If you encounter a barrier or need content in an alternative format, please contact us so we can help and prioritize a fix:

  • Email: info@blackiot.swiss (subject: "Accessibility feedback")
  • Postal: BlackIoT Sagl, Via Stefano Franscini 2A, 6833 Vacallo, Switzerland

We aim to respond within 10 working days.

9. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, residents of an EU / EEA Member State may contact the supervisory authority designated under Directive (EU) 2019/882 in their country. Swiss residents may refer to the Federal Bureau for the Equality of People with Disabilities (EBGB / FEBH, www.ebgb.admin.ch).

10. Changes to this statement

We will update this statement as remediation progresses. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.
